Beatrix Potter wrote ‘The Tale of Samuel Whiskers” but when it was first published in 1908 it was called ‘The Roly Poly Pudding’ It was not until 1926 that it’s name was changed to ‘The Tale of Samuel Whiskers’.
Arthur Gredington modelled this figurine. Samuel has a light green coat, yellow waistcoat and trousers. The Royal Albert version was issued in 1989 with the back-stamp BP-6a, and continued until 1995.
